Paging is the ability to broadcast a message to a single phone, or multiple phones.
Paging is not enabled by default, contact your Administrator to find out if you have the required permissions and configurations for paging.
How to Send a Page
Follow the steps below for the type of Page you'd like to send.
Intercom
- Dial **xxxx where "xxxx" is the extension you'd like to page. For example, to open an intercom with extension 1234, dial **1234.
Note: If you attempt to page an extension that you are not authorized to page, you'll hear a fast busy signal.
Handset Paging
Direct paging
- Dial your direct paging shortcut (ex: *789).
- If you don't know your shortcut, contact your Administrator.
- When you hear a confirmation tone, you are now broadcasting live audio over the speakerphone of all handsets in the page group.
- Hang up to end the page.
Rolling Paging
- Dial your direct paging shortcut (ex: *789).
- If you don't know your shortcut, contact your Administrator.
- When you hear a confirmation tone, record your message.
- Dial # to save the message and then hang up (Hanging up without saving will NOT transmit the page.)
- The recorded message is broadcast over the speakerphones of the handsets in the Rolling Paging group.
Multicast Paging
- Press the Paging softkey on your phone.
- Select a page group/mode from the list.
- All devices subscribed to that page group answer the page (depending on the page mode)
- You are now broadcasting live audio to all subscribed devices.
